anatomy mantle longitudinal section tannin cells shape

The shape of tannin cells is extremely variable depending upon their distance from the root tip, and whether they are formed by the outer row or by the second row of root cells, and also regarding the tree genus involved in the formation of ectomycorrhizae. Up to now, only very limited information is available about the influence of the fungus on the shape of tannin cells. This feature however can easily be obtained and should be noted.
