Morphology Morphology of the mycorrhizal system

morphology mycorrhizal system length

unit: mm

The length of a mycorrhizal system is considered as the length from the ultimate branch (tip of the axis) to the point of older parts where the mantle is still recognizable (a). If mantles are very thin, this measurement is very difficult to be taken. A range of values should be determined, e.g. 5–25(–50) mm; the value in parantheses stands for an exceptional dimension. (For the determination process with DEEMY the exceptional values cannot be included.)

Minimum value
Lower value of unspecified range (could be µ-s.d., but not known)
Mean (= average)
Upper value of unspecified range (could be µ+s.d., but not known)
Maximum value
