Vessel-like hyphae are thick hyphae, mostly arranged in the center of the rhizomorphs, and at least some septa are completely or partially dissolved. The dissolvation can occur centrally (A), asymmetrically (B), or can be seen as small thickened remnants (C). Sometimes former septa can only be discerned by a slight constriction around a vessel hypha (D).
