morphology mycorrhizal system rhizomorphs as short mycorrhiza-like outgrowths with blunt tips presence

Rhizomorphs may be formed as short mycorrhiza-like outgrowths with blunt tips. They are sometimes as thick as mycorrhizae and can often be distinguished from mycorrhizae only by compressing these structures with forceps. This feature is well known from some Ramaria mycorrhizae.
